Mihai Bîzoi is an associate professor at Valahia University of Târgoviște, where he has worked since 1998, and since February 2020 has served as director of the Department of Automation, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering (DAIIE) within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Information Technology (FIEETI).
His professional path within the university has followed every stage of the academic career — teaching assistant trainee (2004–2007), lecturer (2007–2012), senior lecturer (2012–2016) and, since 2016, associate professor — while also serving as the university’s network administrator during his early years (1998–2004), an experience that shaped his interest in networks and computer systems security.
He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Romanian Academy (2011), with the thesis “Communications-Driven Decision Support Systems”, as well as an engineering degree and a master’s degree in Modern Systems for Process Control, Information Processing and Transmission, both from Valahia University of Târgoviște.
He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in operating systems, computer networks, web technologies, computer systems security, object-oriented programming, and cloud computing (details on the Teaching page).
He is a member of the CAIIE research center (Research Center for Automation, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering), which carries out fundamental and applied research in automation, industrial informatics, electrical engineering, artificial intelligence, and Industry 5.0, with directions including cybersecurity, industrial robotics, and smart electric power systems (details on the Research page).
He is a member of the IEEE Computer Society, the Internet Society, ACM (Association for Computing Machinery), the Romanian Robotics Society (SRR), and the Romanian Society of Automatic Control and Technical Informatics (SRAIT).
